Where do you draw the line between something that’s gray hat versus something that’s black hat? There’s no good answer. Any explanation you come across is bound to be at least partially arbitrary. A good standard is whether or not Google considers the practice a violation of some sort. In this case, there is no penalty associated with the practice. Again though, that’s just our standard. Mileage may vary across the spectrum of opinions here.
