Learn What Content you are Allowed to have on Google posts?

Google My business posts enable businesses to directly communicate relevant and time-sensitive information to their customers.  The businesses are responsible for making sure the posts being made comply with Google My Business policies as well as the local laws and regulations.

All Google posts should contain relevant content pertaining to the business.  The goal of posts is to help users better understand the business and allow businesses to release time-sensitive information with the community.  Content that is irrelevant to the business or has no clear association with the business is not allowed.  Google My Business is not a platform for general political, social commentary, or personal rants. The content found breaking these rules will be removed.

Content should not be misleading, it needs to be honest and upfront with users about the information being presented.  Examples of misleading content are misspellings, gimmicky character use, or poor quality content.  Images and videos that negatively distract the user's attention will be removed. Links to malware, viruses, or other harmful software or links to sites irrelevant to the business or phishing scams will be removed and can cause a suspension to occur.

Harassment, bullying, or hateful content is not allowed in Google posts. Content with obscene, profane, or offensive language or gestures is also against Google policy. Content promoting violence, abuse of humans or animals, sexually suggestive content or terrorist-related content, and child exploitation is not tolerated and will also be reported to the appropriate authorities if needed.

Do not impersonate an organization or individual. Do not make false statements about who you are or what you can do.

Posts containing content related to regulated products and services are not allowed.  This includes alcohol, tobacco products, gambling, financial services, pharmaceuticals, and unapproved supplements, or health/medical devices.

Content related to the sale of dangerous and illegal products, services, or activities that cause damage, harm, or injury is not permitted. This includes recreational drugs, weapons, fireworks, and instructions for making explosions or instructions for any other criminal activity.
